Privacy Policy

App: Chat Diary
Effective Date: March 6, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Chat Diary ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the App. Chat Diary is designed as a privacy-first journaling app. Based on the current product design, your diary content is processed locally on your device, and the App is intended to operate without sending your journal content to external servers.

Key principle: Your diary entries and AI-generated diary content are intended to stay on your device unless you choose to export or share them yourself.

1. Information We Process

When you use Chat Diary, the App may process the following categories of information on your device:

2. How We Use Information

Information processed by the App is used only to provide the core features of the product, including:

3. No Cloud Sync and No Account Requirement

Based on the current version of the App, Chat Diary does not require you to create an account in order to use its core features. The App is also designed without mandatory cloud sync for diary content.

That means your journal data is not intended to be stored in an online account controlled by us. If you delete the App or erase your device, your local data may be permanently lost unless you have exported or backed it up yourself through Apple device-level tools.

4. On-Device AI Processing

Chat Diary is designed to use a local on-device language model to generate diary summaries. Your entries are intended to be processed locally on your device rather than transmitted to a remote AI service for summary generation.

We do not intentionally use your diary content to train remote models, build advertising profiles, or provide data to third-party analytics platforms.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data.

We do not intentionally share your journal content with third parties, except in the following limited situations:

6. Data Storage

Your entries, summaries, and related settings are intended to be stored locally on your device. Local storage may include app sandbox storage, local databases, caches, and device-backed storage mechanisms provided by iOS.

While we aim to design the App with privacy in mind, no device or software environment can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. You are responsible for protecting access to your device, including use of device passcodes, Face ID, Touch ID, and other system-level protections.

7. Export and User Control

You control your content inside the App. Depending on the features available in your version of Chat Diary, you may be able to:

Once you export or share content outside the App, that content is subject to the privacy practices of the destination app, service, or storage location you choose.

8. Children's Privacy

Chat Diary is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law in their jurisdiction to provide valid consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through remote account systems as part of the current core product design.

If you believe a child has provided personal information in a way that raises a legal concern, please contact us so that we can review the situation.

9. International Users

Because the App is designed to process data locally on the device, the handling of your journal content is primarily determined by your own device environment and any export or sharing action you choose to take.

If you export or transfer content to third-party apps, cloud services, or storage providers, those transfers may be subject to different laws and privacy practices.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App, legal requirements, or operational practices. When we do, we will update the "Effective Date" above.

11. Contact

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, you can contact the app publisher or developer through the contact method provided on the App Store listing or official support page.

12. App Store Privacy Disclosure Note

This document is a general privacy policy for the current planned product design. Your App Store privacy nutrition labels and any region-specific legal disclosures should be reviewed separately before release to ensure they accurately match the final technical implementation.
